SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Missouri State acrobatics and tumbling lost to No. 4 Augustana, 258.915 – 200.440, on the road on Saturday.
The Bears (1-6) beat their season average score in four of the six events that comprise an A&T meet starting with the acro event. MoState earned its highest event score of the season with a 24.55. In the third heat of the event, the 7-element,
Brookelyn McCaffrey,
Austyn Dykes,
Rebekah McNeely and
Julie Seaman secured the highest acro score so far this season with an 8.90 with a starting score of 9.80.
Missouri State scored a 27.55 in the pyramid event, .83 points ahead of the season average. Each heat passed the 9.00 mark for the first time this season.
In event 5, the Bears scored a 42.95, 2.2 points more than their season average. McNeely earned a season-high score of 8.025 in the 6-element heat of tumbling. The junior from Versailles, Ky. has competed in the 6-element heat each meet this season and was averaging a score of 7.83 prior to today's meet.
MoState competed in the team event for the third time and recorded a score of 56.54.
The Bears will close out their inaugural season on the road with a trip to Baltimore, Md. and the Morgan State Bears. The Battle of the MSU Bears will commence on Thursday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m. Morgan State will livestream the meet on its website.
