JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Learfield Sports announced Friday (Feb. 27) that it has appointed Mike Peddicord as general manager for its Missouri State University property in Springfield.

Peddicord will oversee Missouri State Sports Properties, the university's exclusive athletics multimedia rights holder, and officially began his duties at MSU earlier this week.

He comes to Missouri State from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, where he served as general manager for EKU Sports Properties, representing the Learfield Sports in that capacity. Prior to that, he served five years as the sales and marketing manager for Tanita Corporation of America, Inc. in Arlington Heights, Ill. and has previous sales and marketing experience in the greater Chicago market working with Vision Fitness and Velocity Sports Performance.

Peddicord received his bachelor's degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he was a four-year varsity football letterman. He also holds a master's degree in sports administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

He will lead all aspects of the extensive rights relationship between Learfield Sports and Missouri State Athletics, which includes signage, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, television, digital, event marketing, advertising, and radio game broadcasts and coaches' shows on the Missouri State Sports Network.

"Mike was a tremendous leader at our Eastern Kentucky property, and we're happy to have him in Springfield and know he'll be an excellent asset to what we are trying to accomplish here at Missouri State," said Learfield Sports' Vice President David Hubbard.

Missouri State is one of the nearly 100 collegiate properties represented by Learfield Sports. The company's rich history includes four decades of developing trusted, long-term relationships with some of the most revered institutions and associations in the world of college sports. Learfield has prominence in all major college conferences, including the Missouri Valley Conference.

Peddicord replaces Frank Cuervo who accepted a post within Learfield Sports in January.
