The Missouri State cross country team posted a top-20 finish at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. on Saturday, as the Bears finished 20th out of 43 squads.
Junior Erin Edwards led all Missouri State runners with a 47th-place finish in the 6K. The native of Kansas City, Mo. crossed the finish line in 22:26.6. Senior Emily Beaver followed with a 70th-place finish (22:46.2), while junior Nicole Thate was 141st with a time of 23:53.3. Another junior, Lisa Imgrund, finished with a time of 24:00.6, good for 146th. Freshmen Taeler Marshall (24:46.5) and Tenaly Smith (25:30.6) were 187th and 221st, respectively.
Missouri State’s next meet will be the Missouri Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 27 at Normal, Ill. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
