STILLWATER, Okla. - Freshman Megan Nickles paced the Missouri State cross country team, finishing 65th overall in the 77th annual Cowboy Jamboree at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course Saturday.

The Bears, in action for the for the first time since the Aug. 31 Hurricane Cross Country Festival in Tulsa, scored 355 points to finish 12th overall.

Nickles ran the five-kilometer course 20:58.50 to pace the Bears. Sophomore Olivia Francka finished in 21:14.75 in 68th, while classmate Tenaly Smith was 72nd in 21:42.43.

Another sophomore Cindy Forde crossed the line in 21:58.99 in 74th overall and Taeler Marshallrounded out the Bears' five scorers in a time of 22:27.75.

Freshmen Elizabeth Frazier (23:11.75) and Christina Bradshaw (24:04.99) were also 77th and 78th, respectively.

Missouri State returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 5) in the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by Arkansas. Race time is 10:30 a.m., in Fayetteville, Ark.
