Pasca Cheruiyot came to Missouri State and made an immediate impact setting school records and winning the 2008 MVC Cross Country Championship. She is expected to be a big contributor to the Bears' distance squad....2008 CC: Cheruiyot became the first Missouri State cross country runner since Casey Owens in 2004 to qualify for and compete in the NCAA National Championship. Ran the fifth-fastest 6K time of 20:56.70 at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship, finishing 66th individually....Set the 5K school record and Missouri State Cross Country Facility course record of 16:57.81 at the MVC Conference Championship....Ran the three fastest 6K times in school history with the top time of 20:27.18 occurring at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.....Won the Missouri State Classic and MVC Conference Championship....Placed third in the NCAA Midwest Regional and the Cowboy Jamboree 6K races....Named to All-MVC and All-Midwest Region teams....Background: While at Rend Lake College, Cheruiyot set seven school records. She currently holds the indoor mile, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter records and the outdoor 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter, 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter records....Won the National Championship in the mile, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs...Was a member of the team Indoor National Champion at Rend Lake....Personal: Pasca Jerono Cheruiyot was born July 27, 1986, in Eldoret, Kenya....Is the youngest of nine children....Her sister Rose is an Olympic medalist marathon runner....After graduation, Cheruiyot wants to become a nurse.
