Alick Musukuma

Alick Musukuma will begin his second season as the Missouri State University head cross country coach and assistant track & field coach.

A native of Zambia, Musukuma served as the head cross country coach at Oral Roberts University from 1998-2009. His impressive resume includes 28 NCAA qualifiers in cross country and track and 13 All-Americans. In addition, he has coached three Olympians, four World Championships qualifiers, 17 Summit League Athletes of the Year and 50 conference champions. The coach, who is in his th year of head coaching, was named the Summit League Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2005.

With Musukuma's coaching experience at the Division I level, one of his goals at MSU is to help recruit and develop athletes who will have the enthusiasm to work hard to help the team win championships.

As a competitor, Musukuma was a four-time All-American at Blinn College and a five-time All-American at Oklahoma Baptist in the 800 meters and 4 x 400-meter relay.He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea for his native Zambia.He was the national recordholder in the 800 meters for two years and was named Zambian Sportsman of the Year from 1988-91.

Musukuma earned a bachelor's degree in recreation administration from Oklahoma Baptist in 1996 and a master's from ORU in 1999. He and his wife, Namukale, have five children.
