Missouri State (15-13, 9-7 Missouri Valley Conference) closes the regular season schedule this weekend against Drake (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Creighton (Saturday, 7 p.m.) with much on the line in terms of seeding for next week's Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
MSU hosts the MVC Tournament for the first time since 2007 next week, with matches Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Hammons Student Center.
Saturday's match against CU will serve as Senior Night for the Bears. Shelby Strang will be honored after the match as the lone Bear not returning next season. Strang enters the weekend with 941 digs and 56 service aces in 116 career matches.

The Opponents
Drake is 5-22 overall and 4-12 in MVC play, good for a tie for seventh in the standings. The Bulldogs have four players with 214-236 kills on the season and hit .130 as a team compared to .213 for opponents. DU averages 11.59 kills, 1.12 aces, 16.98 digs and 1.89 blocks per set.
Creighton is 24-3 overall and 15-1 in conference play. The Bluejays have clinched a share of the conference championship and the No. 1 seed in the tournament entering their weekend trip to WSU and MSU.
The Jays are ranked 23rd this week after making the program's AVCA Top 25 debut last week.
Creighton boasts the MVC's best offensive (.254) and defensive (.139) hitting percentage and averages 13.49 kills, 1.28 aces, 17.71 digs and 3.00 blocks per set on the season.

The Series
Missouri State is a combined 80-17 all-time against this week's opponents. MSU is 49-9 against Drake and has won 25 of the last 26 meetings, the exception being a loss in Springfield in 2010.
Missouri State is 30-8 against Creighton, winning five of the last six meetings after CU snapped MSU's 19-match winning streak in the series in 2007 with a three-match streak of its own.

First Meetings This Season
The Bears swept Drake in Des Moines on Sept. 15 with Amber Doolittle recording 11 kills on .556 hitting.
Missouri State and Creighton met in the MVC opener on Sept. 14 in Omaha. The Bluejays took the first two sets, but the Bears fought back behind 23 Christine McCartney kills before losing 15-8 in the fifth set.
