SPRINGFIELD - After a three-year stint at Missouri State University, volleyball assistant coach Fritz Rosenberg has announced he will return to his alma mater this fall to serve as an assistant at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.

Rosenberg joined Melissa Stokes' staff at MSU on April 8, 2011, after spending the 2010 season as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Kentucky. He made an immediate impact on the Bears staff, helping MSU to a 22-9 record and NCAA Tournament in his first season. Missouri State was a combined 59-35 during Rosenberg's tenure in Springfield with a pair of 20-win campaigns.

"It has been an honor to work at Missouri State and be a part of some special teams here," said Rosenberg. "This is a unique opportunity for me to return to my alma mater and I am grateful for the opportunity Coach Stokes provided me during my time at MSU."

Ball State has not announced an official start date for Rosenberg who completed his tenure at MSU last week to begin his transition to the Mid-American Conference program.

Rosenberg is originally from the Chicago area and was a standout club volleyball player at Ball State before completing his degree in sports administration there in 2008.
