• Played only six sets in the season's first 10 matches before breaking out with 22 kills (an MSU season-high and most by a freshman since 1994) Sept. 16 vs. Illinois State, doing so on a .487 hitting percentage.
• That performance earned Brand the first of three MVC Freshman of the Week awards, the second coming on the heels of 4.20 kills per set on .391 hitting against Creighton and Drake
• Added a third freshman honor Oct. 31 after averaging 3.50 kills and hitting .236 against UNI and Bradley, including an 18-kill performance against the 12th-ranked Panthers (10/28)
• Ranked sixth in the MVC with 3.09 kills per set in league matches
• Overall, averaged 2.61 kills on .208 hitting, 1.01 digs and 0.28 blocks per set
