Florant named MVC Field Athlete of the Week
Missouri State's Fabian Florant has earned the title of Missouri Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. Florant, a senior MSU jumper, surpassed the regional triple jump mark of 49'5 3/4" at Saturday's Mississippi State Bulldog Invite, with his first-place leap of 51'3 1/2". In the men's long jump competition, Florant dominated with a jump of 23'10 3/4", earning him another first-place win. Both of Florant's jumps rank at the top of the Valley's best list for the season. The Bears' track and field teams travel to Columbia, Mo., to compete at the University of Missouri Tom Botts Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.
