Missouri State Track and Field Adds Signees
Missouri State track and field today announced the signing of National Letters of Intent from the first two weeks of the current recruiting period. The track and field signing period will run through August 1, 2009.
Emily Beaver (College Heights Christian School, Diamond, Mo.) won three-straight Missouri class 1A state cross country championships. She is one of only three high school runners in state history to win three state cross country titles. Only Jamie Vest (MSU ’08) has won more than state cross country titles than Beaver. In track competition at the 2A level, she had top state championship finishes of fourth in the 1600-meters (2008), seventh in the 800-meters (2008), sixth in the 3200-meters (2007), second in the 4x800-meters relay (2006) and third in the 4x400-meters relay (2008). Beaver will compete in both track and field and cross country for Missouri State.
Jordan Bond (Normal University HS, Normal, Ill.) is a Junior Olympic qualifier and one of the top returning jumpers in the state of Illinois. Bond was an Illinois AA (Large Class) Sectional champion in the triple jump in 2008. She is the Normal High School triple jump record holder and was named team MVC in both 2007 and 2008. Bond was undefeated in the triple jump until the state championship in 2008. She was also an all-area and all-conference honoree in volleyball at Normal High.
