Track and Field Bears Complete Final Day of Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Missouri State track and field squad finished up at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa Saturday (April 28th) evening. The Bears had a solid competition day at Drake Stadium. Emily Beaver competed in the 1,500-meter run (4:28.37), finishing just two seconds off of her personal best time. The Bears 1,600-meter sprint relay team (Pernell Joseph, Merica Moncherry, Althia Maximilien, and Nicole Thate) finished fifth in their heat with a time of 4:00.10. In field events, Kimsue Grant and Jordan Bond went 39-08.75 and 37-11.50, respectively. Grant also competed in the long jump, finishing with a distance of 18-07.75. The Bears will be back in action at the Arkansas Twilight in Fayetteville, Ark. on May 4-5.
