Track and Field Bears Wrap-up Iowa State Classic, Maximilien Continues to Dominate
Feb. 11, 2012 Ames, Iowa - The Missouri State track and field squad finished up their second day of events at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa. The Bears completed seeded events Saturday (Feb. 11) evening. “Overall this was a very good week for us”, said director of track and field and cross country Ron Boyce, "Althia had a big win." Freshman sensation Althia Maximilien won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.91. Pernell Joseph finished second in the 200-meter dash (24.40). Merica Moncherry finished fourth in the event with a time of 24.78. Jordan Bond finished fourth in the triple jump with a personal best leap of 39-03.75. “Pernell had a really good run”, said Boyce, “Jordan had another big week for us with her personal best in the triple.” MSU track and field will be back in action at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 25-26. Results will be made available at www.missouristatebears.com at the completion of events on each day.
