FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Missouri State freshman sprinter Shavonne Husbands tied the school record in the 200-meter dash, and three other track and field Bears set or matched personal bests here in day two of the Tyson Invitational.
Husbands crossed the 200-meters finish line in 23.97 seconds, which equaled Camille Clark’s record that was set in 2000. That time also serves as a personal best for Husbands and ranks her first among Missouri Valley Conference sprinters this season.
A trio of freshmen set Missouri State’s other personal bests on Saturday. Oarabile Babolayi (25.63) and Holly Pattie-Belleli (26.31) earned new best times in the 200-meter dash. Meanwhile, Betsy Borgsmiller tied a personal best distance in the high jump by clearing 1.62 meters.
