Missouri State Jumpers Take the Stage at McCravy Memorial Meet

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- A personal-best performance by Kimsue Grant in the long jump highlighted Missouri State’s field events at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet on Friday (Jan. 25).

Grant, a senior, won the long jump invitational competition with a new best distance of 6.21 meters, which smashed her previous best of 6.07 meters set Feb. 25, 2012. Junior Gemma Smith placed 16th in the long jump invitational with a distance of 5.53 meters. Meanwhile, freshman Holly Pattie-Belleli debuted for Missouri State with a long jump leap of 5.03 meters.

Missouri State sent three student-athletes to compete in Friday’s high jump. Senior Jordan Bond cleared 1.65 meters and placed 10th, while Smith and freshman Betsy Borgsmiller tied for 13th with distances of 1.60 meters.

The Bears will return for day two of the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet on Saturday (Jan. 26) at 9 a.m. CST.
