At Missouri State: Shawnté Middlebrook made a strong showing for the Bears in 2008 and will look to get better as the 2009 season progresses....2008: Middlebrook began her Bears career with a fourth-place finish in the long jump at the Missouri Invitational....Placed fifth in the triple jump, sixth in the long jump and ninth in the 60-meter dash at the Kansas State Wildcat Invitational....Attained personal bests in all three events of the Razorback Invitational where she ran an 8.00 second 60-meter dash, hit 18-07.25 feet in the long jump and 36-10.50 feet in the triple jump....Finished seventh in the long jump and set a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.98 seconds at the Indiana Relays....Placed 11th in the triple jump at the MVC Indoor Championships....Took fourth place in the long jump elite and the triple jump at the Missouri Relays....Won the triple jump and placed second in the long jump at the Big Bear Invitational. Also, placed fifth in the 100-meter dash at the Big Bear Invitational....Placed fifth in the triple jump at the Arkansas Twilight and eighth in the long jump at the Simpson Twilight....Set personal bests in both the 100-meter dash (12.41 seconds) and the triple jump (38-09.50 feet) at the MVC Outdoor Championships. Her distance in the triple jump earned her sixth place....Background: Middlebrook earned conference, district, sectional and Missouri state championships in the long jump and placed second at the state competition in the triple jump her senior year at Lee's Summit West High....She holds the school record at West in both the triple jump (38-8) and the long jump (19-1.25)....Middlebrook was also a 2007 National Merit semifinalist as a senior....As a four-year letterman for the Titans, Middlebrook helped her team to three conference championships and a Missouri Class 3 state title in 2006....Middlebrook was a two-time Golden Shoe Winner (2005 and 2007) as the high point scorer at the conference meet....Personal: Shawnté Nicole Middlebrook was born June 26, 1989, in Kansas City, Mo....She is the daughter of Reggie and Melane Middlebrook.
