At Missouri State: Tanya Cyrus returns for her final outdoor season as one of The Valley's top athletes, following first-place finishes in both the indoor and outdoor 400-meter dash at the MVC championships last year.

2006: Her outdoor personal best of 54.22 in the 400-meter dash resulted in a third-place finish at the prestigious Kansas Relays and qualified her to run at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in Knoxville, Tenn....At the Tom Botts Invitational Cyrus set her personal best in the 200m running 24.42-seconds....She was named to both the indoor and outdoor all-conference teams in the 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relays.....Cyrus wrapped up the MVC indoor 400-meter run title with a run of 55.45 and captured gold at the MVC Outdoor Championships as well with a 400m time of 54.85....Tanya finished off her junior season by running 54.73 at the NCAA Mideast Regional where she placed 17th.

2005: Cyrus scored points in three events at the MVC Indoor Championships by winning the 400-meter dash, placing sixth in the 200-meter dash, while helping the Bears' 1,600-meter relay team win silver....She had three top-five finishes in the 400m and three top-10 finishes in the 200m during the indoor season....Cyrus set a then-personal best of 54.81 in the 400m while finishing fifth at the Nebraska Invitational....She redshirted the outdoor season.

Background: Cyrus joined the Missouri State squad in the 2005 season after transferring from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock....She placed fifth in the 400m at the 2004 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships....She also placed third in the Sun Belt in the Indoor 800m in 2004, and sixth in the indoor 400m at the league meet in 2003.
