Missouri State head softball coach Holly Hesse announced today the addition of Rachel Brisker, a right-handed pitcher, to the Bears team for the 2013 season.
"We are excited to have someone with her experience, talent and work ethic joining the team," said Hesse. "She is a very hard worker and is serious about the game of softball. We look forward to her being an immediate and significant contributor in the circle."

Brisker joins the Bears after spending two seasons at Muscatine Community College in Muscatine, Iowa. While there, she helped the Cardinals to back-to-back 45 win seasons. She led the nation in strikeouts per game and was second in strikeouts per inning in 2012 and was named an NJCAA Academic All-American. During her prep career at Wilton High, she racked up 68 wins, 730 strikeouts and 34 career shutouts. She earned back-to-back MVP, first-team all-conference, all-district and all-state honors her junior and senior seasons at WHS while leading the team to conference titles both years. Brisker was named to the state all-tournament team while tossing 13 shutouts and a perfect game as a junior. She was also a second team all-conference selection her sophomore season and earned the coaches appreciation award and most improved player accolades.
