Sophomore Ashley Brentz and senior Natalie Rose received all-conference recognition by the league, it was announced at the Missouri Valley Conference awards banquet in Carbondale, Ill., on Wednesday evening. Brentz earned first-team honors while Rose picked up second-team accolades.

Brentz was awarded her first all-MVC honor after leading Missouri State in batting average (.310), hits (44), runs (23) and walks (28). Her walk total sits fifth on the all-time single season school list. This season, Brentz leads the team with 11 multi-hit games, including the only four-hit performance of the season on February 17 vs. Sam Houston State. As a result, she earned Fairfield Inn & Suites Classic all-tournament honors. A week later, she scored a career-high pair of runs in a win over SEMO to earn Blues City Classic all-tournament team honors. Brentz hit safely in 16 MVC games this season including a two-for-three game at Evansville on March 24, a game in which she scored a career-best three runs.

Rose earned her second consecutive all-MVC honor after being a first-team honoree last season. She earned MVC Pitcher of the Week honors twice this season. The first was on February 20 after tossing six perfect innings in a win over South Dakota State. She won consecutive awards when named pitcher of the week again on February 27 after out-dueling the reigning MAC Pitcher of the Year. Rose recorded her 500th and 600th career strikeout this season and climbed into third on the MSU career list. The all-time leader in appearances with 153, Rose was named to all three all-tournament teams to begin the season. She is ninth in the nation in fewest walks per game allowed at 0.99, one of just nine pitchers under 1.00. Rose's last five wins have been 1-0 complete game shutouts, including a one-hitter in eight innings at league-champion UNI. Earlier on Wednesday, named Rose to their all-MVC first team.

Sixth-seeded Missouri State (24-25, 12-14) will play Bradley (21-29, 11-15) in the first round of the State Farm MVC Tournament on Thursday, May 10 at 1:35 p.m. at Charlotte West Stadium in Carbondale, Ill.
