SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State senior third baseman Heather Duckworth has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VI first team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday (May 1). The Sunnyvale, Texas, native holds a 3.77 grade point average as a psychology major at MSU. She is the 15th Bear to earn the accolade and first since Jenna Schwark in 2010.

Duckworth is hitting .286 for Missouri State this season and has started 49 games at third base. She is tied with teammate Bethany Sullinger for the team and MVC lead with four triples on the season.

On the year, Duckworth has a career-best 26 RBI, 17 of which have come with two outs. She also has career highs in at-bats (140), hits (40), triples (4), walks (19) and slugging percentage (.464) this year.

On April 5, Duckworth drove in four runs at Drake, the third four-RBI game of her career. It was her second game driving in four runs this season, the only Bear to achieve the feat twice this season.

A 2013 All-MVC second team selection, Duckworth has amassed 368 assists in her career at MSU, a total that is six shy of the top-5 in school history. She has also compiled 33 doubles in her four seasons, three short of the top-5 list.
