Softball to Venture to Wichita for Rubber Game Against Shockers
April 24, 2012
Fresh off a one-hit shutout of league-leading UNI, the Missouri State softball team (20-21, 8-11) will travel to Wichita, Kan., on Wednesday for the rubber game against the Shockers (12-34, 5-15). The 6:00 p.m. game at Wilkins Stadium will conclude the three-game home and home series against Wichita State.
Last week, the Bears and Shockers split a doubleheader at Killian Stadium. Natalie Rose threw a complete game shutout in the first game with Ashley Brentz driving in the only run in a 1-0 Bears victory. In game two, the Shockers defeated the Bears, 5-1.
Following Wednesday's game, Missouri State will return home for the final home stand of the season. Indiana State will be in town for Senior Weekend. Both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday and single game on Sunday, with games beginning at 12:00 p.m. both days. On Sunday, fans will be admitted free as the Bears celebrate seniors Natalie Rose and Raeven Replogle on Fan Appreciation Day. Tickets for Saturday's doubleheader can be purchased at Killian Stadium on game day.
