SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Missouri Valley Conference series finale between Missouri State (15-8, 1-1) and Bradley (10-15, 1-1) that was postponed on Sunday will be played at Killian Stadium on Thursday (March 20) at 4:00 p.m. The teams split Saturday's conference-opening doubleheader here in Springfield.
Both teams will enter Thursday's rubber game following a busy midweek schedule. The Bears play at home tonight at 5:00 p.m. versus Northern Colorado before travelling to Kansas City on Wednesday for a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader against UMKC. Bradley is in Oklahoma to take on the nationally ranked Sooners tonight and stop in Tulsa to play the also-ranked Golden Hurricane on Wednesday.
Missouri State pitcher Chelsea Jones was named MVC Pitcher of the Week on Monday, the second time this season she has earned the award. Jones went 3-0 last week, including the Bears' win over Bradley in game one on Saturday.
Following Thursday's rescheduled game versus the Braves, the Bears will be back home next Wednesday (March 26) for a 5:00 p.m. matchup against Tulsa.
