Missouri State Softball Adds Doubleheader at SEMO on March 7

Feb. 28, 2013

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State head softball coach Holly Hesse announced Thursday that the Bears have added a doubleheader at Southeast Missouri State on Thursday, March 7. MSU and SEMO will begin the twin bill at Southeast Softball Complex in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at 2:00 p.m.

The schedule change is a direct result of the recent cancellations of the Bears' scheduled home opener and this weekend's Missouri Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Last season, the Bears rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off, 5-4 win over the Redhawks at the Missouri Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament in Kansas City.

Hesse announced Wednesday that the Bears (7-8) will play UMKC at Killian Stadium in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 19 beginning at 3:00 p.m. The doubleheader replaces the single game that was originally scheduled for March 20.
