At Missouri State:Courtney Owens will compete for playing time in the outfield as one of only three seniors on the roster.
2006: Owens started five games in right field and played in 12 games total in her first season with the program. She was one of seven at the plate with an RBI and was successful on her only steal attempt. On defense, Owens recorded six putouts and added an assist.
Background: Owens came to Missouri State after two years at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Owens hit .332 for the Raiders in her sophomore campaign, with 31 runs scored, 61 hits, 14 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 41 RBIs. Owens also added seven stolen bases and had a .538 slugging percentage, helping Three Rivers to a 41-18-2 record in 2005.
