The reigning MVC Tournament MVP will be the cornerstone of the Bears' pitching staff for her senior season. Her tremendous talent and success make her one of the top returning hurlers in the Valley.

2011
Rose became the epitome of the term workhorse in 2011 when she set single-season school records with 39 starts, 49 appearances and 265.1 innings tossed ... capped off a 4-0 MVC Tournament with MVP and All-Tournament team honors ... named to the All-MVC first team ... earned first career MVC Pitcher of the Week honor on March 14 after recording two wins, two saves and pitching seven innings of three-hit ball in a 1-0 loss to No. 10 Oklahoma ... earned MVC Pitcher of the Week honors again on March 28 following a 2-1 week in which she allowed just one earned run over 20 innings ... fired the 13th no-hitter in MSU history on May 7 in the first game of a doubleheader sweep of Evansville at Killian Stadium ... turned in a season-best six-game winning streak from April 12-20 with two wins vs. UMKC, three wins at Bradley and a victory in the first game of the doubleheader at Wichita State ... her 22 wins were the most by a Bears hurler since 1998 (Nora Cagwin, 26) and 2.11 ERA was the lowest since 2006 (Samantha Fleeman, 1.28) ... recorded all five of the Bears' saves on the season.

Rose stepped into the role of staff ace late in the year, with 10 of her 16 starts coming in the last month of the season ... recorded club highs of nine wins, nine complete games and two shutouts ... appeared in 38 games overall to rank fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference ... turned in a 2.23 earned run average in 69.0 innings pitched over 17 MVC outings ... notched 134 strikeouts, which was good for seventh in the conference, and only 38 walks in 160 innings pitched ... her 2.89 ERA rated as the ninth-best in the MVC ... registered three saves on the year to tie three others for the top total in the league ... was perfect over 4.0 innings pitched with six strikeouts to earn a win and a save in two relief appearances in MSU's three-game sweep of Creighton (April 2-3) ... held Drake scoreless over 11.0 innings, registering 11 strikeouts against just one walk in two appearances; wrapped up a three-hit shutout of the Bulldogs with a 6-0 victory on April 18 ... won one game and saved another, May 1-2 in Missouri State's three-game sweep of Indiana State ... posted a trio of nine-strikeout performances on the season, including two in the MVC Tournament against Evansville (May 13) and Southern Illinois (May 14) to earn All-MVC Tournament honors ... combined with SIU's Danielle Glosson for 27 strikeouts over 9.2 innings to match the 17th-highest single-game total in NCAA history ... began a streak of 52 consecutive innings pitched for the Bears on May 8 at UNI; would complete six straight starts, going 4-3 with a 2.29 ERA over that stretch.

Rose made 25 appearances as a freshman, working primarily out of the bullpen ... led the club with 65 strikeouts while walking only seven batters ... also posted a team-low .242 batting average against ... posted 12.0 scoreless innings, Feb. 6-8, to start her career ... made four starts in all, striking out 10 in two of her first three starting assignments ... worked a complete-game, two-hit shutout of Bryant (Feb. 7) in her first collegiate start, and allowed just one run on four hits in a 3-1 win over Wichita State (Feb. 21) ... fanned seven hitters in 4.0 shutout innings of relief to earn the victory in MSU's 8-4 win over Saint Louis (March 8).

Background
Rose was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starting pitcher for Henryetta High School in Henryetta, Okla. ... tabbed all-state and 8-Star Conference MVP as a senior, posting 25 shutouts, including eight no-hitters ... allowed just seven earned runs as a senior, good for a 0.61 ERA, to help the Lady Knights to district and regional titles and a state runner-up finish ... concluded her high school career as a three-time all-conference and all-county selection ... recorded 1,008 career strikeouts and was a part of three straight district and regional championship squads at Henryetta ... also competed in track and field at Henryetta, posting three straight fourth-place finishes in the discus at the Oklahoma Class 3A state track and field championships.
