McPherson is an anchor in the outfield who can provide core leadership and be a consistent bat in the middle of the lineup.
McPherson played in 49 games getting 45 starts on the year ... improved batting average to .236 and had a career-high 26 hits, 15 runs scored and six doubles ... her 17 steal attempts were the sixth-most among MVC players ... hit a game-tying three-run home run in the fifth inning of the MVC Tournament quarterfinals against Bradley (May 8) ... went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and a run scored against Central Michigan (Feb. 14) ... hit a double and drove in a run in a 3-for-4 performance at Oklahoma State (March 9) ... had a career-long seven-game hitting streak from March 29 through April 6... drew a pair of walks and scored a run at Loyola (April 7) ... third on the team with 11 stolen bases ... stole two bases, scored a run and drove in another against SIUE (March 13).
McPherson appeared in 35 games, starting on 17 occasions ... began the season with a walk and a stolen base against Coastal Carolina (Feb. 8) ... crushed a three-run pinch-hit home run against UTSA (Feb. 17) ... went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in win at Memphis (March 12) ... had a 2-for-2 day with a walk and a run scored versus UMKC (March 19) ... came off the bench to hit two-run home run in series finale at Drake (March 30) ... scored twice in a 1-for-3 outing that included a walk in victory at Illinois State (April 6) ... hit a pinch-hit double and scored in game one of regular season finale at Bradley (May 5) ... successfully drove in three of four runners from third base with fewer than two outs on the season ... fielded all 25 chances flawlessly for a 1.000 fielding percentage ... seven of 11 RBI on the year came with two outs.
McPherson played in 43 games, starting 33, in her first season with the Bears ... was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases, one of just three Bears to not get caught stealing ... picked up the first of her 19 hits against UNI on February 25 ... slammed her first career home run in the regular season finale at Creighton (May 6) ... had a six-game hitting streak from March 16-24, tied for the longest hitting streak on the team in 2012 ... had two multi-RBI games, both on the road (March 24 at Evansville and May 6 at Creighton) ... scored a run in five consecutive games from March 16-24.
McPherson was a four-time all-district and all-conference honoree at Oak Grove (Mo.) High School, leading the Panthers to their first district title in seven years in 2010 ... enjoyed a banner senior year, hitting .479 to earn all-state recognition ... primarily a catcher for Oak Grove, McPherson has the versatility to play infield and outfield for the Bears ... also competed in basketball for Oak Grove and helped her Originals 16U club team to a third-place finish at the ASA Northern Nationals in 2009 and a first-place finish at the Colorado Fireworks in 2010.
