At Missouri State: The Bears' lone returning three-year letterwinner, Lauren McGinley will once again share starting pitching duties after a solid junior campaign in which she posted a club-high 10 victories in the circle.

2009: McGinley made a team-high 22 starts and 26 appearances, racking up a career-high 10 victories to lead the Bears ... posted a 2.98 ERA, giving up 122 hits in her 122.0 innings pitched, while striking out 61 batters ... ranked fourth in the MVC in shutouts (5), eighth in wins and starts and 10th in complete games (10) ... batted .267 with three sacrifices in 19 plate appearances ... recorded eight of her 10 victories in road or neutral field contests, posting a 2.15 ERA in 17 appearances away from Killian Softball Stadium; went just 1-of-10 at the plate on the road, while hitting .600 (3-of-5) at home ... blanked Boston College, 1-0, in a six-hit shutout to open the season ... won four straight decisions (2/20 thru 3/7) in which she registered three complete games and a 1.35 earned run average in four starts; pitched 16.1 consecutive scoreless innings during the same span ... included in that stretch was a complete-game, nine-inning four-hitter in a 4-0 MSU victory over Tennessee Tech (2/27) at the Frost Classic ... named the Missouri Valley Conference's Co-Pitcher of the Week for the period February 23-March 1 ... posted back-to-back shutouts of Indiana State (3/21 & 3/22), allowing a total of five hits in the two victories to help MSU record a three-game sweep of the Sycamores ... earned Prairie Farms MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week recognition (3/26) for her work in the classroom and on the field ... pitched the Bears to a 1-0 win over league champion Creighton (4/25), notching her fifth shutout of the year by allowing just three hits while matching a career high with five strikeouts ... received MVC Scholar-Athlete honorable mention at the conclusion of the season.

2008:McGinley pitched in 21 games for the Bears, including 15 starts ... won her first four decisions of the season and worked 11.2 consecutive scoreless innings to go 3-0 at the Florida Atlantic Strikeout Cancer Tournament; allowed just one earned run for the tournament and earned the win in MSU's 3-2 decision over Long Island (2/17) in the championship game to earn tourney MVP honors ... pitched the Bears past Wichita State (4/2) with a five-inning effort in which she gave up just five hits and no earned runs in a 5-3 victory ... won three straight starts from April 2-16, allowing only four earned runs in 14.1 innings of work ... posted a complete-game, five-hit shutout of Central Arkansas (4/16) and went the distance in a 5-2 loss to Southern Illinois (4/26) as well, giving up five runs on five hits while fanning a season-high four batters.

2007: McGinley started 43 games at first base, batting .169 and boasting a .983 fielding percentage in a team-high 229 chances. She posted an 0-2 record on the mound, with a 14.54 ERA over 13 innings of work.

Background: McGinley joined the Bears' program from Putnam City High School in Oklahoma, where she was a four-year starter for coach Rod Wisley. As a senior, McGinley won 20 games on the mound, allowing only 18 earned runs in 249 innings. She recorded 228 strikeouts and pitched two no-hitters during the season. At the plate, McGinley hit .381 with 43 hits, eight doubles, and 17 RBIs. She drew 16 walks, scored five runs, and posted a .522 on-base percentage. In the field, she tallied 54 putouts, 21 assists, and posted a .981 fielding percentage. Following the season, McGinley earned all-state honors from the Daily Oklahoman, made the All-Tribune softball team and was named the publication's player of the year, and was named the Putnam City MVP. For her career, McGinley posted a 46-22 record with 481 strikeouts, allowed only 68 earned runs in 496 innings, and fired five no-hitters. At the plate, she posted a .405 career batting average, with 191 hits, 29 doubles, eight triples, five homers, and 76 RBIs. In the field, she posted a four-year total of 238 putouts and 106 assists for a .980 fielding percentage. McGinley volunteered at a local elementary school, was a Special Olympics volunteer, and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal:Lauren Elizabeth McGinley is the daughter of John and Susan McGinley. She was born October 1, 1987, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She is majoring in physical education.
