Stephens is a great student of the game and does a great job defensively. She has the flexibility and talent to hit anywhere one through five in the lineup.

2015 [-Sophomore-]
Stephens started all 53 games she played in during the 2015 season ... hit .318, third-best on the team, with seven home runs and 28 runs batted in ... became the first MSU player in school history with five hits in a game, achieving the feat twice in the span of 10 days against UMKC (March 11) and at Bradley (March 21) ... drew 32 bases on balls, the third-highest single season total in program history ... had a .434 on-base percentage, seventh highest among MVC players ... began the season with a hit in each of the first three games, extending her personal hitting streak to 11 games dating back to 2013 season ... drove in a run in each of the first two games to open the season ... went 2-for-4 at LA Tech (Feb. 8) ... had a hit and drew two walks in each game against Eastern Michigan at the Texas A&M Aggie Classic (Feb. 13-14) ... hit first home run of the season at McNeese State (Feb. 20) ... drew a season-high three walks and scored a run against Iowa (Feb. 22) ... had an RBI double, a sac fly, drew a walk and scored a run in win over Samford (March 8) ... drove in three runs, scored twice and hit a double among her five hits against UMKC (March 11) ... homered, doubled, drove in two runs while collecting five hits at Bradley (March 21) ... went 4-for-4 with a home run and season-high four RBI in series finale at Indiana State (March 29) ... homered, drove in two runs and scored twice versus Wichita State (April 22) ... collected five hits, drew two walks, drove in three and scored four times in UNI series (April 25-26) ... recorded first career triple in home finale against UNI (April 26) ... hit safely in eight-straight games from April 25 through May 8 ... hit a two-run home run in MVC Tournament semifinals win over Illinois State (May 8) ... earned a spot on the MVC All-Tournament Team.

2014 [-Redshirt-]
Stephens suffered a season-ending injury on the first defensive play of the season at Georgia Tech (Feb. 8) ... recorded a hit in each game of the doubleheader at GT on opening day and scored a run in the MSU win in game two ... was a preseason All-MVC selection.

2013 [-Freshman-]
Stephens played in 51 of the Bears’ 52 games and started 47 times en route to an All-MVC second team selection ... had 47 hits and 25 RBI, second-most on the team ... led the team with four three-hit games and had 13 multi-hit games on the year ... her 19 base hits with runners in scoring position was the most by any Bear in 2013 ... hit .309 with five doubles and a home run, a two-run shot against Boise State on her birthday (Feb. 15) ... lined a two-run single down the left field line against Coastal Carolina (Feb. 8) for first career hit ... had seven hits, drove in four runs and scored twice in the first three games of the UTSA Classic (Feb. 15-16) ... went 3-for-3 and walked once with three RBI and two runs scored in win over Toledo (Feb. 23) ... hit safely in nine of ten games from March 12 through March 29 including four multi-hit outings ... recorded a hit in eight of her first nine conference games ... ended the season on a six-game hitting streak.

Stephens started all four years at Wylie High for head coach Heather Damron ... her junior season, she set her school’s record with 19 home runs, while batting .570 and driving in 74 runs ... was an all-state selection and 4A District MVP her junior and senior seasons ... led her team to a District 4A runner-up finish as a senior while earning team co-MVP and academic all-state honors ... named Offensive Player of the Year and DFW Player of the Week as a junior and was among the leaders in doubles, triples, home runs and RBI in the 4A district ... earned academic all-district honors her sophomore and junior years ... named to the all-district second team as a sophomore after batting .375 ... as a freshman, she was named District 8-5A Newcomer of the Year after hitting .346 and adding 16 RBI.

Mary Kathryn Stephens is the daughter of Grecha and Jeff Stephens ... born February 15, 1994, in Dallas, Texas ... has one brother, Korey ... is a sport and park administration major at Missouri State.
