2006: Martin started all 57 games for the Bears in leftfield, picking up 32 hits and 10 RBIs, while scoring 26 runs. Martin was selected to the All-MVC Second Team in the outfield and was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team and the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII First Team. The left fielder converted on 62 of 63 fielding chances, with two assists. Martin was second on the team and tied for third in the MVC with three triples and her 14 stolen bases were tied for second-best on the team and fourth-best in the Valley.
2005: Martin played in all of the Bears' 52 games, collecting 47 starting assignments. Martin hit .252 for the season, with 10 RBIs and was second on the team with 19 runs scored, 14 stolen bases in 16 attempts, and was third with 29 hits.
2004: As a freshman, Martin played in 55 games, earning 50 starts, primarily in left field. Martin collected 33 hits with a .223 batting average. She led the team in stolen bases (10) and was second with seven doubles. Martin scored 22 runs and added eight RBIs in 2004. She earned 40 walks to rank second on the squad.
Background: Martin came to Missouri State after enjoying a stellar career at Baldwin City (Kan.) High. During her career with the Bulldogs, Martin set numerous single-season school records. As a junior, Martin set the records for on-base percentange (.625) and RBIs (24). As a sophomore, she earned school records in batting average (.514), slugging percentage (.667) and runs scored (26). She received all-league and all-state honors in 2002 while helping lead the Bulldogs to the Frontier League Championship in 2001. Martin also lettered in volleyball and basketball while at Baldwin City High.
