Jones had a fantastic start to her freshman season and will contribute greatly offensively and defensively now that she is healthy again.
Jones played in 10 games before a season-ending injury in the final game of the Blues City Classic ... hit safely in six of the 10 games she played in including a 3-for-3 outing with three runs scored at UT Arlington (Feb. 14) ... drove in two runs and scored once with a triple against Morehead State (Feb. 21) ... walked twice and scored a run versus Alabama A&M (Feb. 21) ... had a single, stole a base and scored against Memphis (Feb. 22).
Jones started all four seasons at shortstop for head coach Kim White at Blue Valley Northwest High ... led the Huskies in hitting and stolen bases in each of her first three seasons at BVNWHS ... led her team to the state tournament for the first time in 10 seasons as a senior and earned all-state first team honors ... took home the MVP award at the annual MOKAN game as a senior ... was a four-time Eastern Kansas League (EKL) scholar-athlete selection and was named to the league honorable mention team three times ... earned team defensive player of the year honors as a junior ... named team MVP her sophomore campaign ... was the team offensive player of the year as a freshman ... Jones' club team KC Peppers finished ninth at the 2013 Premier Nationals and participated in three national championship games during her summer softball career ... named Defensive MVP of the U16 World Series as a 14 year-old ... competed in eight consecutive ASA National Tournaments ... while at Blue Valley Northwest High, Jones played varsity basketball all four years and was a team manager of the football team for two seasons.
