A returning all-conference selection, Brentz looks to continue her solid offensive showing as a smooth lefty hitter.

2012
Brentz led the Bears in hitting with a .304 average and started all 51 games ... tied Stevie Pierce for the team lead with 29 walks, the fourth-highest single season total in program history ... her 24 runs and 45 hits were the most on the team ... she was one of two Bears with more walks than strikeouts ... began the season with a 4-for-4 day with two runs scored and a stolen base against Sam Houston State (February 17) to spark the Bears to Holly Hesse's 600th win ... named to the all-tournament teams at both the Fairfield Inn & Suites Tournament and the Blues City Classic ... recorded at least one hit against every Valley opponent on the season ... racked up a team-best 11 multi-hit games ... had a season-best six-game hitting streak from April 3-11 in which she went 10-for-19 with five runs scored ... one-third of her hits (15) came with two outs ... tied for the team-lead with a .333 batting average with runners in scoring position ... stole seven bases, the second-best total on the squad.

2011
Brentz appeared in 35 games for MSU in her first year ... she started 11 games, nine of which were at second base ... her .250 batting average was second-best among freshman ... tallied her first career triple at Indiana State on March 26 ... went a combined 5-for-9 with two runs scored and an RBI in a doubleheader with Wisconsin in her first action as a Bear on February 19 at Austin, Texas ... did not commit an error in 41 fielding chances.

Background
Brentz was a three-time all-conference selection as an infielder at Parkway South High School ... swiped 50 bases in her career and helped lead the Patriots to a Missouri Class 4 runner-up finish as a junior in 2008 .... playing on a team that produced three Division I signees, Brentz added all-district and all-region honors to her resume after leading South in hitting with a .450 average as a senior in 2009.
