Women's soccer gets 2-1 win at Western Kentucky
The Missouri State women's soccer team defeated Western Kentucky, 2-1, in Bowling Green, Ky., Friday night, on a goal by Junior Angela Parsons with just under four minutes to play in the match.
Parsons' goal came off a corner kick from Caroline Rooker, placed to Chelsea Anderson who fed Parsons for her first goal of the season, to give Missouri State the 2-1 victory.
Western Kentucky struck first in the match, scoring at the 24-minute mark, and would take the 1-0 advantage into the intermission.
Jenna Dobkins netted the first goal of her collegiate career with just over 20 minutes to play in the match off an assist from Anderson, tying the score at 1-1.
Jackie Jasper earned the victory in goal for the Bears, with six saves in the match, and improves to 5-2-2 on the season.
The Bears improved to 5-2-2 this season and travel to Charleston, Ill., Sunday to face Eastern Illinois, with game time set for 1 p.m.
