Bears Head South for Pair of Weekend Matches in the Natural State
Sep 5, 2013
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Missouri State women's soccer team (0-5-0) returns to Arkansas for a pair of matches this weekend in search of the elusive first win of the season. MSU will visit Central Arkansas of Friday for a 5:00 p.m. matchup, the first-ever meeting between the squads. The Bears then stop in Little Rock for a match against UALR on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
"We have played some strong competition already this season and have really played well," head coach Rob Brewer stated. "We are working hard in practice and during the games, but are still working to find the best fit for some of our players. If we keep putting in the effort and creating chances, things will start to go our way."
Junior Molly Huber has been a great addition to the Bears' offense. She has assisted on both of Stewart's goals this season. Huber has started all five matches this season, logging 346 minutes, second-most among non-defenders.
Weimer has been outstanding against the Trojans. She has scored a goal in each of the last four matchups against UALR. As a team, Missouri State is 13-1-0 all-time against the Trojans.
Following this weekend's matches, Missouri State will travel to the state of Illinois for matches at Western Illinois (Sept. 13) and SIU Edwardsville (Sept. 15) to wrap up a five-game road swing. The Bears return home on September 17 at 7:00 p.m. vs. UMKC.
