ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri State women's soccer player Molly Brewer was awarded Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week accolades, the league office announced on Wednesday (Sept. 3). The junior from Springfield picked up her first weekly MVC award after she scored a pair of goals and added an assist en route to Holiday Inn City Center Tulsa Invitational all-tournament team honors.

Brewer was locked in on the attack over the weekend. She scored her first two goals of the season and added to her team-best assist total. On Friday, she put the Bears up midway through the first half at Tulsa on an unassisted goal.

Then on Sunday, she continued her dominance over the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. She again put the Bears in front with another first half tally. Then in the 84th minute with MSU trailing, she served in an accurate corner that found its way into the net to tie the match. It was Brewer's eighth career assist and fourth against ORU.

On the weekend, she scored two goals on five shots and four of the five shots were on target. Brewer is tied for the league lead with six points on the year. Her two goals and two assists are tied for third in each category.

The Bears return home to Allison South on Sunday, September 7 for a 1:00 p.m. match against Arkansas State. That match will mark the beginning of five out of six games on the MSU slate to be played at home. Sunday's match will be televised on MC22 on tape-delay and a free clinic will follow that match for youth grades K-8.
