Sophomore Samantha Aguilar scored her second goal of the 2008 season in a 1-0 victory over in-state rival Southeast Missouri State on Friday night in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The win improved the Bear’s record to 2-1 on the season.
Missouri State’s lone goal came in the 50th minute of the second-half. Sophomore midfielder Christine Cross was tabbed with the assist as she led Aguilar with a pass that resulted in a goal in the bottom left corner of the net.
Missouri State recorded seven shots, with four on goal to Southeast Missouri’s six.
Aguilar led the Bears offense posting two shots while four other Bears recorded one shot a piece.
The Missouri State women’s soccer squad will be back at home on Sunday, August 31 to host the University of Tulsa. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
