SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State women's soccer coach Rob Brewer announced the completion of the team's 2013 season schedule today. The Bears will play eight home games, seven at Plaster Field on campus and a single game at the Cooper Family Soccer Plex. On the 2013 docket for the Bears are teams from power conferences such as the Big 12, SEC and Conference USA.

"We will be battle tested early in those home matches," said head coach Rob Brewer. "Then we have the five-game road trip with some tough challenges where we will have to learn how to win on the road. Loyola is a new team to the league and to us and it will be a new atmosphere for our team to play in Chicago. The opportunity to play Oklahoma State late in the season was something we couldn't pass up."

MSU will begin the season with four-consecutive home matches beginning with the opener against Oral Roberts on August 23. The Bears will also faceoff against Tulsa and Kansas at Plaster Field on August 25 and 30, respectively. The home stand will conclude with a match against Arkansas at Cooper on September 1.

The team will then embark on its longest road trip of the season. The first three games will all be in the state of Arkansas as MSU will play at Arkansas State, Central Arkansas and UALR. The Bears will then head to Illinois for matches versus Western Illinois and SIU Edwardsville.

Missouri State returns to Plaster Field for a match against UMKC on September 17. The Bears have beaten the Kangaroos all four matchups, winning by a 2-1 score in each of the last three.

A trip to Omaha to face Nebraska-Omaha awaits prior to the opening of conference play. MSU will host UNI on September 27 in the league opener. The Bears are 5-0-0 all-time when opening conference play against the Panthers.

Missouri State will make its first visit to new Valley foe Loyola on October 5. The Bears and Ramblers have never met on a soccer pitch. MSU will visit Evansville before returning home to face Drake on October 18.

The Bears travel to Stillwater, Okla., on October 20 to face Oklahoma State in the final non-conference match of the year. MSU wraps up the season's road schedule with a trip to Terre Haute, Ind. The Bears will look to avenge a season-ending loss to the Sycamores in 2012.

Halloween night will see the regular season conclude with a home match against Illinois State. The 7:00 p.m. tilt pits the Bears against last season's MVC Tournament champion.

Following the regular season, the MVC Women's Soccer Championship will be held in Evansville, Ind., on November 8 and 10 with the winner receiving an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

The Bears return 15 letterwinners including seven starters from last season's 8-8-2 squad that ended up 2-3-1 in Valley matches. Missouri State had six-straight home shutouts going into the regular season finale against Indiana State.
