Brewer, Huber Net Goals in Overtime Loss at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - The Missouri State women's soccer team (1-2-0) took the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3-0-0) to overtime for the fourth-straight matchup, but fell in the extra session 3-2 in Tulsa on Friday night to open the Holiday Inn City Center Tulsa Invitational.
Junior Molly Brewer scored her first goal of the season to put MSU in front in the first half. In the 26th minute, she delivered an unassisted goal on an 18-yard strike.
The Bears doubled their lead early in the second half. Senior Molly Huber found the back of the net for the second time this season with a tally in the 49th minute. Her goal in the 49th minute was assisted by freshman Rachel Catrell, her first career assist.
Tulsa rallied and cut the deficit in half just minutes later on an Alexa Sidorakis goal in the 56th minute. The Golden Hurricane pulled even with another goal in the 66th minute.
The Bears held on and got the match to overtime, but Tulsa tacked on the game-winner just 35 seconds into overtime.
Missouri State was credited with just three shots in the match and the Bears put both shots that were on target into the back of the net. Junior goalkeeper Jessica Perry made five saves.
MSU will continue the weekend in Tulsa with a match on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. vs. Oral Roberts. The Bears return home to Allison South on Sunday, September 7 for a 1:00 p.m. tilt against Arkansas State. The match will be televised on MC22 on tape-delay and a free clinic will follow that match for youth grades K-8.
