At Missouri State: Smith brings an added scoring option to the Bears attacking squad in her first year as a Bear.

Background: Smith was a standout performer in her four seasons at St. James Academy for head coach Rick Enna. She led her team to the Kansas State Championship in her senior, sophomore and freshman seasons. She was an all-state first-teamer her junior and senior years and an all-state second-teamer her freshman campaign. Smith earned all-Sun Johnson County first team and all-metro honorable mention accolades as a senior team captain. Her junior year, she scored 18 goals for the Thunder as a team captain. Smith won the Kansas State Cup Championship with her club team, KCFC Intensity, seven times, including her senior season, and won the Midwest Regional League title three times. KCFC Intensity was ranked as high as third in the nation in 2010. During her club team's run to a national championship in 2011, her five goals tied for the most goals scored in regional play. She also played basketball all four years at St. James Academy and earned all-state honorable mention accolades as a senior.

Personal: Smith is the daughter of Steve and Mary Beth Smith and was born August 23, 1992. She will be a nursing major at Missouri State. Her father, Steve, played and coached football at the University of Kansas.
