Seniors Kelsey Fouch and Molly Huber pick up MVC Player of the Week awards after impressive outings a week ago.
At Missouri State: Huber creates opportunities and the Bears expect her to find her stride and be an important attacking player in 2014.
2013: Huber started all 19 games after being named a preseason All-MVC selection before even stepping on the pitch. She was an offensive force all season for the Bears beginning with an assist in her first match against Oral Roberts (8/23). Huber led the Bears with six assists on the season, the most by a Bear since 2010 (Nia Williams). She tallied her first goal in an MSU uniform in the conference opener versus UNI. She recorded at least a point in four consecutive matches from Sept. 17 through Oct. 5. She scored her second goal of the season at Oklahoma State (10/20). She added her final assist of the season in the MVC Tournament match against Evansville (11/3) tying her for the team lead with 10 points. Huber led the Bears with 42 shots taken, placing 12 on frame. She successfully converted her PK in the MVC Tournament shootout versus Evansville (11/3).
Background: Huber came to Missouri State after spending her first two collegiate seasons at Kentucky. She saw action in eight games as a sophomore and scored a pair of goals in 20 matches as a freshman for the Wildcats. As a senior at Ursuline Academy, Huber scored both goals against Incarnate Word Academy to win the 2011 Class 3 State Championship. She was an all-state selection for UA. During her junior season, she earned all-conference honors. Huber tallied 28 goals and 25 assists in two seasons at Ursuline. As a member of the Region II 1993 ODP Team, Huber competed in the Portugal International trip in April 2010, playing against the Ireland U-17 and U-19 National Teams and Benfica Lisbon Portuguese Futbol Club. Huber also lettered in lacrosse as a sophomore at Ursuline.
Personal: Huber is the daughter of Andrew and Denise Huber and was born May 5, 1993. She is a hospitality and restaurant administration major at Missouri State.
