Bears Kick Off Regular Season with Pair of Home Matches This Weekend

At Missouri State: Kelsey Fouch is a valuable asset to the backline and her speed provides the Bears with another offensive weapon.

2011: Fouch made an immediate impact recording an assist in her first match with the Bears. She was an All-MVC honorable mention and MVC All-Freshman team selection after starting all 19 matches on the backline. She was named MVC Newcomer of the Week on Oct. 4 following the Bears' third consecutive shutout in which Fouch cleared a ball off the endline to preserve the clean sheet against Illinois State (9/30). Fouch assisted on the game-winning goal against Oral Roberts (9/11).

Background: Fouch started all four years for head coach Dan Hogan at Francis Howell North. She earned all-conference first team honors her senior season and second team accolades her junior and sophomore seasons. The Knights were conference champions all four years of her career. Fouch was honored as GAC South Co-Player of the Year as a senior. As a senior, Fouch earned all-state second team honors. During her freshman season, she helped her team to district and regional titles. Her club team, Scott Gallagher, were state champs her junior and freshman seasons. She also played basketball for four years at Francis Howell North.

Personal: Fouch is the daughter of Tom and Sherri Fouch and was born March 28, 1993. She is undecided on a major at MSU. Her father, Tom, won the 1976 National Championship in soccer for Meramac Community College before finishing his career at South Carolina.
