At Missouri State: Kate Blair will become a four-year starter for Missouri State this fall. Her nine career game-winning goals are one shy of a school record and she ranks fifth on MSU's career charts in goals (15) and sixth in points (36). 2006: Blair earned second team All-MVC accolades as a junior, scoring four goals and adding three assists. The forward was named to the MVC All-Tournament team after she scored the game-winning goal in the Bears' 1-0 victory over Illinois State in the first round of the MVC Tournament (10/29). She also tallied the game winner in a 7-1 rout of Northern Iowa (10/1). Blair also recorded a goal in wins over Tennessee-Martin (9/1) and Arkansas-Little Rock. For the season, she recorded 26 shots and 15 shots on goal. Also an outstanding student, Blair was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII first team for the second straight season and also was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team for the second time. Blair currently holds a 3.88 grade-point average in marketing management. 2005: The St. Louis native played in all 18 matches for the Bears as a sophomore, including 17 starting assignments. She had nine points on three goals, all game winners, and three assists. Blair tied for second in the MVC with her three game-winning goals. She was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII first team and to the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team. 2004: Blair led the Bears in shots (50), goals (8), game-winning goals (4) and points (16) as a freshman. Blair tied the Missouri State single-season record with her four game winners, which came against Murray State, Oral Roberts, Evansville, and Eastern Illinois. She was honored as a MVC All-Conference honorable mention pick, as well as landing on the Valley All-Freshman Team. Background: Blair arrived at Missouri State after starting one year at Parkway North and two at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis. Blair led her club team in goals (30) and assists (15) her senior season. Personal: Kate is the daughter of Stephen and Laura Blair and was born Jan. 24, 1986.
