Bears Suffer Devastating Overtime Loss to End Season

At Missouri State: Opfer gives the Bears a strong, physical presence and will be looked upon to be a ball-winner in the middle of the field.

Background: Opfer was a four-year starter and letterwinner for head coach Jeff Rogers and the Glendale Falcons, where she scored 31 career goals and added 23 assists. As a senior, she was State Defensive, Regional and District Player of the Year and was an all-state, all-region, all-conference, all-district and all-Ozarks first teamer. She was also named to the academic all-conference team for a GHS squad that reached the quarterfinals at state. She led her team to regional, district and conference titles as a team captain her junior year. She was named regional and district defensive MVP and earned all-conference, all-district, all-region and all-Ozarks first team honors, while being named to the all-state second team. Her sophomore campaign saw her earn all-conference and all-district second team laurels along with Glendale Varsity MVC honors. Opfer was a second-team all-conference, all-district and all-Ozarks selection while leading her team to conference, district and regional titles as a freshman. She also played four years on the Glendale volleyball team.

Personal: Opfer is the daughter of Scott and Tracy Opfer and was born July 9, 1993. Her father, Scott, played football and her mother, Tracy, competed in gymnastics at Winona State. She is undecided on a major at MSU.
