Clegg Named Valley Golfer of the Week

Missouri State's Emma Clegg has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career.

The senior from Blackburn, Lancashire, England, earned the honor after finishing second by a single stroke at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield this past Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 15-16).

Clegg led the Bears to a runner-up team finish, firing 71-73-75--219, to record career-best totals for 18 and 54 holes. She finished a shot behind medalist Emelie Westrup of Arkansas-Little Rock.

She currently is ranked second in the MVC, carries a 75.67 stroke average, and is ranked in MSU's career top 10 in scoring. In the classroom, Clegg is a two-time National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar.
