Women's Golf in Third Entering Final Round at Baylor Invitational
Missouri State carded the second-best score of the afternoon round on a windy Monday (Apr. 11) and jumped from eighth to third place after 36 holes at the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas. MSU followed up 313 in the morning with 303 to sit at 616 and just a shot out of second in the 18-team field. Texas Tech has the lead entering Tuesday's final round with 309-295--604, while Texas-San Antonio is second after posting 309-306--615. Then comes MSU, followed by 28th-ranked Oklahoma (618), North Texas (620), Nebraska (621), Baylor (624), Texas State (626), Kansas (629) and no. 50 Augusta State (632) rounding out the top 10. Missouri (633) is 11th, then Arkansas-Little Rock (636), Oral Roberts (641), SMU (643), Oklahoma City (648), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (649), McLennan C.C. (658) and UAB (681). Junior Kelsey Welber led the Bears by firing 76-75--151 and is tied for ninth, while senior Catherine Dolan and freshman Rikke Falsner are tied for 17th after each shot 79-75--154. Sophomore Emma Clegg is tied for 30th after carding 78-78--156 and junior Emily Potts shot 82-84--166 and is tied for 70th. Chelsey Cothran holds the lead entering the final round with 74-73--147. Tuesday's action is slated for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the par 72, 6257-yard Twin Rivers Golf Club.
