Women's Golf Ninth After 36 Holes at UALR

The Missouri State women's golf team is ninth after Monday's (Mar. 26) opening 36 holes at the UALR Classic in Hot Springs, Ark. The Bears shot 300-308--608 and are 12 shots behind leader Oral Roberts.

Bear senior Catherine Dolan is in contention in the medalist race after posting 73-73--146, which places her three shots off the lead and tied for fifth place. Crystal Reeves of ORU holds the top spot after posting 73-70--143. Elsewhere for MSU, senior Kelsey Welber shot 72-77--149 and is tied for 17th, while junior Emma Clegg had 76-79--155 and is in a tie for 51st. Freshman Chiara Citterio recorded 79-79--158 and is tied for 67th, while junior Hermine Greyling is in 71st after shooting 79-80--159. Freshman Megan Thompson played as an individual and is tied for 38th after posting 79-74--153.

Oral Roberts has a four-shot lead in the 19-team field with 295-301--596, with Tulsa and Louisiana Monroe tied for second with 600. UALR and Middle Tennessee State are tied for fourth (601), followed by North Texas and UTEP (604), Eastern Michigan (608), the Bears, Troy and UMKC (610), Arkansas State (611), Ball State (612), Samford (613), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (617), Northern Colorado (621), Central Arkansas (622), Wichita State (628) and Northern Iowa (632).

Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
