Welber Named Valley Golfer of the Week

Missouri State's Kelsey Welber has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after a strong showing at last week's Rio Verde Invitational.

A senior from Plano, Texas, Welber finished third at the tournament in Rio Verde, Ariz., firing 75-71-75--221 and leading the Bears to a second-place finish.

She has now won the conference weekly award three times this season and eight times in her career, which ranks her fifth in MVC history. Welber currently leads the conference with a 75.00 scoring average and has placed in the top 10 in six of the Bears' seven tournaments.
