RIO VERDE, Ariz. - On the second day of the Rio Verde Invitational, the Missouri State women’s golf team shot 320 to move into 15th place in the tournament.

The Bears were in 17th after the first round and have a combined 637 heading into the event’s final day. The three-day tournament is played this weekend at the Quail Run course at the Rio Verde Country Club with 18 schools competing.

Xavier leads the field after carding a second round low 298. Wichita State (299-304—603) sits two strokes behind the Musketeers. Montana (298-306—604), who led after Friday’s opening round, is in third just ahead of hosts Western Michigan (303-307—610).

Six golfers are tied for the lead after two rounds at 148. Alejandra Arellano (Wichita State), Barbora Bakova (Montana), Shane Crutchfield (Xavier), Tara Green (Montana), Jacquie LeMarr (Northern Arizona), and Alexa Schendelman (Montana) are all 6-over.

For the Bears, sophomore Ariel Tidwell is tied for 31st with her 78-78—156. Caroline Boone (79-78—157) is a stroke back of Tidwell and is tied for 40th in the 96 golfer field.

Lindsey Eisenreich (78-81—159), Chiara Citterio (82-83—165), and Megan Furnish (82-86—168) round out the remaining Missouri State golfers.


 

 

The final round of the tournament will tee off at 9:00 a.m. CT on Sunday morning.
