Women's Golf Moves Up on Last Day at Alamo Invitational

The Missouri State women's golf team moved up two spots in Tuesday's (Nov. 1) final round to finish 11th at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. Led by even-par 72's from Catherine Dolan and Megan Thompson, the Bears carded 298 to go with 306-306 the first two rounds and finished with 910, good for 11th of 14 teams in their final tournament of the fall.

Thompson led the Bears for the tournament, tying for 32nd after shooting 76-77-72--225, while Dolan was a shot back in a tie for 37th with 77-77-72--226. Junior Hermine Greyling was another stroke back, shooting 77-73-77--227 to tie for 41st. Senior Kelsey Welber posted 76-79-77--232 for 55th place and junior Emma Clegg had 84-79-77--240 for 70th. Medalist honors went to UTSA's Fabiola Arriaga, who shot 69-72-72--213, three under par at Briggs Ranch Golf Club.

UTSA also rallied to win the team championship over Baylor, 866 to 869, while Texas A&M was third with 880. Kentucky placed fourth with 883, followed by Nebraska (884), TCU (885), Texas State (886), Texas Tech (891), UCF (894), Kennesaw State (907), the Bears, Minnesota (912), New Mexico State (920) and SMU (922).
