Missouri State Saves Best Round for Last, Finishes Sixth at ORU Shootout

Tulsa, Okla. – The Missouri State women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Oral Roberts University Shootout, carding 316-311-302—929 during the two day tournament.
Of the eighteen schools competing, the Bears’ 302 final round score was tied for second best with tournament hosts and runner-up Oral Roberts. Lamar University carded 300 on the final round to repeat as tournament champions.
Lamar was also the only school to crack under the 900 mark, finishing with 899. Rounding out the top schools are ORU (913), Arkansas State (914), Arkansas-Little Rock (914), Incarnate Word (925), and Missouri State (929).
Individually, junior Chiara Citterio led the Bears with her 75-80-72—227, tying her for twelfth overall in the 90 golfer field. Teammates Megan Thompson (74-77-78—229), Ariel Tidwell (79-81-77), and Caroline Boone (91-77-75) all scored for the Bears, with Megan Furnish (88-77-79) closing out the Missouri State golfers.
The Bear host the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on October 14 and 15 in Springfield.
