Women's Golf 12th Entering Final Round at Johnie Imes

The Missouri State women's golf team is tied for 12th of 19 teams after the first day of the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo. The Bears shot 309-314--623 on Monday (Oct. 1) and were led by senior Emma Clegg, who posted 75-76--151 and is tied for 23rd place.
Freshman Ariel Tidwell carded 77-76--153 to tie for 34th with 18 holes left to play on Tuesday. Sophomore Chiara Citterio shot 81-79--160 and is tied for 66th, while Megan Furnish, a freshman playing in her first collegiate event, shot 81-83--164 and is 77th. Sophomore Megan Thompson posted 76 in the opening round, but was forced to withdraw due to injury in the second round. Kansas State's Whitney Pyle is the leader in the medalist race after shooting 68-69--137.
SMU is the team leader after compiling 297-284--581, six better than Kansas State, which had 296-291--587. Host Missouri is third at 594, while Indiana (596) and Louisville (602) round out the top five.
Tuesday's final round is slated for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
